Sunday Services at Keld Chapel

Services are held in the chapel once a month usually at 2pm. The small congregation is often expanded by visitors and holidaymakers. As in all churches special emphasis is placed on the great Christian festivals of Easter and Christmas. In addition much is made of Harvest. Another special occasion is Remembrance Sunday. The service begins at the war memorial on the edge of the village to remember the four men of Keld who sacrificed their lives in the First World War. A short downhill walk leads to the chapel where the service continues.
Holy Communion is celebrated bimonthly.
The United Reformed Church has produced several eminent hymn writers in the 20th century. Singing is an important part of the tradition and once a year the service follows the format of a ‘Songs of Praise’. A Carol Service is held just before Christmas.
